The LogDoor Multi-domain Web Site Monitor provides real-time, site-specific server access information based on your AppleShare IP, WebSTAR or WebSTAR-compatible log file. This information includes hits, visits, bytes transferred and errors for each site on your server, plus complete, individualized log files for each site. Information can be displayed locally (in both graphical and tabular form) and made accessible over the Web through detailed HTML reports. LogDoor can be configured to let you "drill down" within particular sites to provide information on files and sub-sites within those sites. LogDoor can also process the log files produced by the HomeDoor Multi-domain Web Service Manager.
If you are upgrading to version 2.0 and are already familiar with LogDoor 1.2, review What's New in LogDoor 2.0 to learn about LogDoor's new features. If you are new to LogDoor, you can get started using LogDoor right away in the Quick Start section below, or go to LogDoor Basics for an overview of LogDoor's features.
LogDoor does not require or use MacTCP or Open Transport.
Installation
If you wish LogDoor to process the log file while that log file is still open, LogDoor may need to run on the same Macintosh as the application which is producing the log file, depending on the server. Specifically, LogDoor must run on the same machine as WebSTAR to process WebSTAR's log file, but doesn't need to run on the same machine as ASIP to process its log file. Otherwise LogDoor can run on any Macintosh on your network.
When you know where LogDoor needs to be installed, install it by simply dragging the LogDoor application onto the hard disk of the desired machine.
